The front door is one of the first things guest will notice about your home. You can easily express your home's unique aesthetic and the changing of the seasons by styling the front door. Let's have a look a some cool front door decor vignettes to inspire you in time for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

1: Get creative with wreaths.

Wreaths, which can be as simple or as elaborate as you want, are a front door staple. In the image above, the wreaths hung to the side of the door help balance the door's verticality. Wreaths have endless possibilities. which mean you can buy or make one that best expresses your tastes. Don't be afraid to do something out of the ordinary with your wreaths.

2. Add greenery.

Plants, whether they are real or fake, help to soften the hard lines and materials in an exterior entryway. In the image above, the plants are tied in with the fall decor to create a lovely visual composition. Be careful though, too many elements on the ground level have a tendency to make the area feel cluttered and heavy.

3. Consistency is key.

Being consistent with color and type of object can help to avoid a cluttered look. The image above brings the corn from the pot into the door wreath while the pumpkins help to ground the vertical elements. Treat the styling of your front door like you would any space or vignette inside your home.

4. A seat can make a big difference.

Placing a chair next to the front door accentuates the feelings of togetherness and invitation. Styling the chair with pillows and a throw softens the edges and gives guests a taste of your interior decor inside the home.

5. Balance the entryway with symmetry.

Every single piece in the image above is symmetrical which helps to bring the eye straight to the front door. Keeping the decor symmetrical can be a way to highlight the symmetry of the architecture of your home. Remember to keep in mind the visual weight of your front door elements, as a symmetrical look calls for duplicates of items, which can quickly create clutter.
