Minimalist Holiday Decor

Happy Black Friday everyone!

Welcome to our design blog.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, Christmas and other winter holidays are right around the corner. In today's post, we'll look at three simple tips to get your home ready for the holidays with a minimal, Scandinavian touch.

1: Keep the color palette neutral.

A common theme among Scandinavian design is a neutral, minimalist color scheme. Fresh whites mixed with earthy greens, wood tones, and deep blacks gives your space a timeless touch. Mixing in plaid or stripe patterns with a few traditional holiday items can provide a balanced look.

2. Add color through accessories.

Adding pops of red and green on bookshelves and vignettes around your home to allude to the Christmas holiday without being obvious. Try wrapping some books with holiday wrapping paper, like the image above, to add holiday spirit without adding more objects.

3. Don't go overboard!

If you're going for a minimalist look, this may be obvious, but this tip applies to everyone's home. Your winter and Christmas decor doesn't have to cover every inch of space for it to be noticed by your guests. Sometimes it can be useful to take away a couple items in every vignette in your home to avoid a decor overload.
