Happy Friday everyone!
Welcome to our design blog.
We've been having a lot of fun with our "Best Spaces" series! This week, we are going to focus on one of the coziest rooms in a home - the living room! The living room speaks volumes to your design style and can hold a lot of personality. Without further ado, let's look at 10 living rooms that are doing it right!

This great living space seamlessly combines comfort and style. There is a clear color scheme that isn't overloaded with pattern or texture. It's fashionable, but also an inviting place to sit and converse.

This moody living room looks so cozy and warm because of the rich, deep color palette. Gray, being the dominating color in this room, helps soften the bold look. Accessories can transform a space from dark and monochromatic to chic and styled.

This contemporary space feels light and spacious. In this space, the beautiful area rug ties the whole room together. Bold accessories like lighting fixtures, plants, and rugs can be the art in your space (and actual artwork on the wall doesn't hurt either!).

Color is a very powerful tool in design, when properly used. Make a statement with textures, patterns, and colors to showcase your unique design style and personality. This space takes advantage of all three with the plants, area rug, and desaturated blue wall.

"Every seat needs a table and every table needs a lamp." - a phrase from one of my professors in design school. This living room follows this rule and shows us that following the rules definitely doesn't have to be boring. Every single room in your house can be functional and beautiful.

Every room has a focal point that your eye is drawn to when you enter the room. The focal point should be made the "wow" factor that the other furniture in the space compliments. Especially if you live in colder climates, like Iowa, a fireplace might be a great solution for a living room. A fireplace creates an immediate focal point while also being a practical element.

Imagine this living room with white walls instead of green. Both colors can work very well in this space. This is why it is important to take risks and experiment with your style until you find something you like.

Living rooms do a lot to bring people together. It's likely the place to catch up with old friends, relax on the weekend, and enjoy taking life slow. Capture this in your design and create a space that you truly want to be in, and a space your guests can enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
